Prospective Students
Admissions Quota:
The team currently offers 5 Ph.D. positions for 2025 enrollment (including merit-based spots, direct Ph.D. admission from master’s, application-based assessment, industry-sponsored programs, and joint programs with Pengcheng Laboratory), and 10 master’s positions (academic/professional/joint training). There is no fixed deadline—offers are made on a rolling basis.
Background Requirements:
Applicants should have a solid programming foundation and strong interest in networking or large models, and be proficient in at least one programming language. Students with strong English or mathematics skills are especially welcome. Preference will be given to those with academic achievements or entrepreneurial ambitions.
Research Directions:
Smart cloud networking, artificial intelligence, and human-computer interaction (AI + Network). Students from all disciplines and schools are encouraged to apply—background is not a limitation; passion and ambition matter more.
Internship Program for Recommendation-Based Master’s Admission:
- To facilitate mutual understanding during the recommendation-based admission process, we offer a dedicated internship program running from March to September, typically lasting 1–2 months. Candidates who pass the evaluation will be granted a guaranteed graduate spot in our team.
- Based on past internship outcomes, this assessment period has significantly helped uncover students’ research potential, provided a solid foundation for the transition to graduate studies, and firmly avoids the use of unpaid labor.

It was selected as the top-ranked case in the Ministry of Education’s first batch of “AI + Higher Education” application scenarios, and won the Gold Award (1st place group) in the 2024 China International College Students Innovation Competition. At the 2024 World MOOC Conference, President Kun Xu officially launched CodeUp as a globally recognized smart education achievement.
Training Outcomes:
- Won the Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award from the China Education Society of Electronics (2023); 2 postdocs selected for the National Postdoctoral Innovation Program (only 8 selected nationwide in communications); 10+ students awarded Outstanding Ph.D./Master’s Theses (top 1%).

- Over 20 master’s/Ph.D. students selected for top-tier talent programs in major tech companies. In 2024, all 9 applicants from the team received national or enterprise scholarships—a record for a single research group at the university.
- Ongoing Example: Among 29 graduate students in the 2022 cohort, 3 are in direct Ph.D. tracks, 4 received national scholarships, and 7 received corporate scholarships. Collectively, they published 13 CCF-A and 17 CCF-B papers as first authors, averaging over 1 top-tier conference paper per student — reflecting an exceptional level of academic achievement.
